The Western Sugar Cooperative, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska started out as the Great Western Sugar Company in the early 20th century. Founded in Northern Colorado by Charles Boettcher and his partners, the company expanded out of Colorado, and into Wyoming and Nebraska. When it was originally built, Nebraska’s Scottsbluff facility was capable of producing over 1000 tons of sugar per day!

Today, Western Sugar Cooperative is made up of over 850 proud growers and shareholders, who take pride in their long history of beet sugar production. With processing and storage facilities all over Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming, Western Sugar Cooperative has come a long way from its early roots.
